CSCS Celebrates Adeeko, Nwosu for Meritorious Service

The Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc last week celebrated the duo of Bola Adeeko and Obinna Nwosu for excellent and dedicated services during their time at the company as the Interim chief executive officer (CEO) and non-executive director (ED) respectively.

Adeeko was seconded from the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) to CSCS on January 2, 2017 as the Interim CEO while Nwosu joined the board in February 2014 and was the Chairman, Finance and Stakeholders’ Relationship Committee.
Speaking at a send-off dinner held for the duo in Lagos, the Chairman, Board of Director, CSCS, Oscar Oyema said: “We are proud of Adeeko’s numerous achievements during his short stint at CSCS which also stands as a testimonial that our trust in his ability to deliver was not misplaced. Some of his notable achievements include the successful delivery and launch of Project Meridian which was the replacement of the company’s legacy software with a brand new and nimbler Central Securities Depository (CSD) platform to enhance operational efficiencies and position it to support clearing and settlement of new asset classes.”

Commenting on Nwosu, Onyema said: “We enjoyed his extensive knowledge and robust contributions towards the strategic direction and growth of CSCS. His unassuming nature and charming personality would be sorely missed. Thank you for your contributions and demonstration of strong leadership qualities particularly as the Board Committee Chairman of Finance and Stakeholders’ Relationship Committee.”

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, CSCS, Haruna Jalo-Waziri also showered encomiums on the duo, saying that he was always impressed by their depth of knowledge and understanding at any level of engagement.

“We appreciate the good work of Bola and Obinna in CSCS and it is our earnest prayer that you continue in your good work in future endeavours. We also hope we can call on you whenever the need arises and we look forward to continuing our close cooperation on a strong basis of trust. Posterity will also remember your contributions to CSCS,” he said.

Jalo-Waziri was appointed as boss of the CSCS effective November 1, 2017
Onyema had said he has vast industry knowledge coupled with a clear understanding of the company’s values and strategic vision.

“He has been involved in several innovations in the capital markets. These attributes make him a right choice to effectively lead our company,” Onyema had said.
