Obasanjo, Ohuabunwa, Others for S'East Economic Summit

Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, will be among the dignitaries to attend South-east economic summit taking place from November 11 to 13.

A statement made available to THISDAY in Awka, Anambra State, by the Director, Media and Communication of South East Governors’ Forum, Mr Mike Udah, said Prof Anya O. Anya would be Chairman of the occasion, while the keynote speaker would be made by Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa of the African Centre for Business Development.

The statement added that the summit is organised by the South East Governors’ Forum in partnership with UK AID-Department for International Development Partnership to Engage, Reform and Learn.

According to the statement read, “South East Region Economic Development Company is organising a South East Economic Summit with the theme: ‘Repositioning the South East For Rapid Economic Development’.

“The Chairman of the occasion is Prof. Anya O. Anya. The former President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, will be the Chief Guest of Honour.
“The three-day summit will last from November 11 to 13. The opening ceremony will hold on November 11 at the Base Place, 7/8 Aguleri Street, Independence Layout, Enugu at 10.00am.

“Speakers at this summit include Prof. Barth Nnaji, Dr. Gregory Ikechukwu Ibe, Chancellor/Founder, Geogory University, Uturu, Abia State, Dr. Uju Agomoh, Executive Director, Prisoners Rehabilitation and Welfare Action, Chair NU Strategy Committee and Secretary NU Business Think Home Initiative.

“Other key participants at this summit include Eze Nwakanma, Head of Agriculture, Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, Mr. Alfred Okeke, Regional Director, Nigeria Investment Promotion Council and Mr. Emeka Ugwu-Oju, Founder, Nigeria Entrepreneurship Summit of Honours.”
