Frontline politician, and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has taken a swipe at former members of the party who left the party to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Iwuanyanwu said every country deserves to have a strong opposition party, saying that President Muhammadu Buhari calls him a pillar of Nigeria democracy because of his political belief.

Speaking on the party’s performance in the 2015 elections, the PDP stalwart said that former President Goodluck Jonathan deserves a Nobel prize for saving ‎the country from what would have been her worst electoral violence in history.

Apparently addressing Mrs. Patience Jonathan who was present at the occasion, Iwuanyanwu stated: “I want you to tell Jonathan that life is about ups and down. When PDP gets back to power Jonathan deserves a Nobel prize. Power will one day return to PDP.”

He called for political restructuring of the country, especially among the three tiers of government so that they can be independent and have financial autonomy.

Iwuanyanwu dismissed what the former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon on the Biafran war, and said about Chief Chukwuemeka Ojukwu ‎not supporting secession.

According to him, contrary to Gowon’s assertion’ it was the failure the then military government to implement the Aburi Accord that led to the declaration of state of Biafra‎ by the war council in Enugu and not Ojukwu.
