LEAD Project Africa Holds 9th Edition November 10

The 9the edition of LEAD Project Africa will hold on November 10, 2017 at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The annual Africa-centric project was created with the vision to ignite the spirit of enterprise in Africa; promote entrepreneurship initiatives; proffer solutions to economic challenges; recognise trailblazers and leading and budding brands that are creating value in the continent.

The event features Annual Lecture, Think Tank forum, and Award/Gala Nite. The theme of this year’s Think Tank Forum is: ‘The New Order for Economic Advancement in Nigeria’, and is expected to explore the role of agricultural development, technological revolution, among others. Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos, International Coordinator/Executive Director, LEAD Project Africa, Mr. Paul Jide Peters, said this year’s edition would “specially honour ‘intrapraneurs’ – people/managers of ideas that are creating value and shaping different sectors of the economy.” According to him, the Think Tank forum is expected to strategically create a roadmap for Nigeria’s economic development, stressing that, enterprise initiatives and small and medium businesses which are the engine of growth for developed economies must be explored to make Africa great again.

Dignitaries expected to speak at the Think Tank forum include: Minister of Communication, Mr. Adebayo Shitu; former governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed; Vice President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Sani Dangote; and Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole; amongst others.
Peters said over 30 awards would be presented at the occasion including The LEAD Man of The Year, LEAD Innovator of The Year, and Icon of The Year. Others are Governor of The Year, Brand of The Year, entrepreneur of The Year, and African Brand of The Year, among others. He stated that the criteria to be used in determining awardees are: Leadership Excellence, Enterprise Initiative, Advancement in African Industry, and Development of African Economy (LEAD).
