Culture Meets Music in DJ Spinall Tour

From all indications, it isn’t going to be business as usual for the vodka brand, Smirnoff. With the launch of its new product Smirnoff XI which comes in two variants: Extra Smooth and Intense Chocolate, the premium brand is raising its ante in the entertainment industry.

It started with a huge buzz that the brand ambassador DJ Spinall will be kicking off a tour. That’s not really something new. The main catch was unveiled at a media briefing were the brand revealed its plans to tour selected cities in the country.

Going all the way till May 2018, the Smirnoff band will be lighting up cities such as Lagos, Abuja, Jos, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Benin, and Owerri with unforgettable music concerts. The city of Lagos will play host twice being the hub of entertainment in the country. Lined up artistes include Yung L, Adekunle Gold, Illbliss, Mayorkun, M.I, Harrysong, among others. DJ Spinall will also be on ground to provide unlimited music to the excited fans.
The concerts will not end on the stage but will give feisty fun lovers an opportunity to showcase their city. Using the hashtag #TurnUpMyCity, participants are enticed to share exciting things about their city, particularly in how they party.

According to the Marketing and Innovations Director – Guinness Nigeria Plc, Adenike Adebola; the tour is a testament of the brand’s dedication to bring the best party to town. “We are happy to launch the new brand Smirnoff X1 which comes in two variants:Intense Chocolate and Extra Smooth, as well as kick off a tour. It is going to be one nation, seven cities and right epic nights. Beyond the music experience, it’s also about discovering the different realities in these cities. How they like to party, the different energy that bring to parties as well as the unique creative things about the cities.”

To show that they meant business, a mini-fashion parade was set up at the unveiling. Beautiful models adorned in cultural outfits of the enlisted cities dazzled the crowd with their catwalks while assisting Ill Rhymz, the host at the raffle draw. The lucky winners were given an all-expense paid trip to the selected city. The first leg of the concert kicked off yesterday in Owerri.
