Timilehin Bello: My ‘Media Panache’ Story

MY STORY

Timilehin Bello is a public relations executive and the CEO of Media Panache Nigeria, a digital-driven agency.  He is one of the youngest PR executives in Nigeria. In this chat with Tosin Clegg, he talks about his career

Tell us about your journey in PR?

Truly, it wasn’t a day’s. My PR journey started when I discovered the creation of social and messaging sites. It started when I joined politics in school and I got elected as the public relations officer in the Department of Theatre Arts, Lagos State University. That’s how it started for me, and right now, the rest is history.

How did you come about starting Media Panache?

I was in a discussion with Obi Martins sometime in 2015, about registering a company for myself that will do media and PR related services, but I didn’t know when to start, what to name it or anything at all. Obi Martins, who is a writer and a creative thinker racked his brain, and immediately gave me the name ‘Media Panache’.

What are your Challenges so far?

I remember when we started, our area had no power supply for a while and we were running the company on generator, it cost us a lot of money to do that. Also, the issue of staffing, it’s hard to get amazing staff for startups. Young Nigerians want to live big life and don’t want to grow with companies.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Leading a bunch of happy staff, happy clients and a happy company, with offices all over the world. The vision is very big, and very possible.
