Simba Introduces Farmtrac Tractors

In what could be described as another major boost to the renewed revolution in the Agriculture sector in Nigeria by the President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government, Simba Agric. & Power Industries Limited, one of Nigeria’s Agricultural solutions and consultancy companies has launched the globally renowned Farmtrac brand of tractors in the country..

The new range of tractors was launched at the recently concluded AgrikExpo organised by the Nigeria AgriBusiness Group (NABG) as part of it 2017 Conference held at International Conference in Abuja.

Farmtrac tractors are manufactured in India by Escorts – a leading engineering company that operates in the sectors of agri-machinery, construction and material handling equipment, railway equipment and auto components.

Speaking at the event, the Head of Simba Agric Division, Mr. Akshay Talwar disclosed that the company recognises the need to offer the latest technology products in the agri-machinery sector to boost mechanisation and enhance the sector.

Also speaking on the newly launched tractors, the Manager, Institutional Agric Division, Mr. Olusola Afuye stated that the new range of Farmtrac tractors, which are designed with latest technologies, are positioned to fill identified gaps and find lasting solutions to some of the challenges confronting Nigerian farmers.

He noted that with the introduction of the Heritage Series of Farmtrac tractors, Simba Agric. & Power Industries Limited, which ranges from 37 HP to 75 HP, farmers and farm owners across the country can now be guaranteed of improved productivity.
While delivering his remarks at the exhibition, Honourable Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development,

Chief Audu Ogbeh highlighted the need for modernisation of farming with the use of world-class technology, machinery and equipment as part of the identified solutions to increased agricultural productivity in the country.
Ogbeh who lauded the investment drive of companies in the agricultural business explained that he was optimistic that the sector will soon become largest contributor to Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product, GDP in no distant time.

Ogbeh however restated the commitment of the government to the Green Alternative Agenda aimed at diversifying the economy and stimulating economic growth through increased agricultural productivity, food security, and production of raw materials to revitalise the ailing agro-allied industries and increase foreign exchange earnings for the nation.
