Labour Party Accuses FG of Complicity in Maina’s Return, Reinstatement

The Labour Party (LP) on Friday accused the President Muhammadu Buhari administration of complicity in the circumstances surrounding the return, reinstatement and consequent disappearance of a fugitive Assistant Director in the Ministry of Interior, Abdulrasheed Maina.

The LP, which demanded the immediate arrest and prosecution of Maina, noted that since they  brought him back, they must definitely know his whereabouts.

Addressing a press conference in Abuja, the National Chairman of Labour Party, Dr Mike Omotoso, said that it is on record that Maina was sacked by the last administration and placed on the wanted list, adding that the way and manner the fugitive was ferried in and reinstated in office is a national disgrace.

“We are calling on the federal government to arrest and prosecute Maina if they know where he is. Since they were the ones that brought him back and reinstated him, they should also bring him out now, arrest and prosecute him,” the party said.
