A renowned author and indigene of Ekiti State, Mr. Adesina Adetola, has promised to distribute one million books free to Ekiti citizens resident at home, as part of the ways to shore up reading culture among them.

Adetola made the promise in Ado Ekiti Friday while launching his new book entitled: ‘Ekiti State: Beyond Rhetorics, Myths and Sentiment’.

The book’s foreword is written by a revered lawyer, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN).

The author lamented the dwindling interest of Ekiti people in intellectual works, contrary to the acronym the state was widely respected for — ‘Fountain of Knowledge’.

Adetola said the youths of the state and even some elite are interested in political matters, rather than where books are unveiled or presented to the public.
