Dozie Joins Global Leaders at Summit on Financial Inclusion for Women

The Chief Executive Officer of Diamond Bank, Mr. Uzoma Dozie is expected to travels to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania this week for the global non-governmental organisation’s (NGO) Women’s World Banking’s biennial international gathering titled: “The Making Finance Work for Women,” summit.

According to a statement, the two-day program would feature leading international experts driving the innovations in women’s financial inclusion.

Diamond Bank is a Women’s World Banking Network partner organization.

“I am thrilled to join global colleagues who share Diamond Bank’s passion for promoting women’s economic empowerment,” Dozie said.

“I welcome the opportunity to share our experiences in innovating to serve women and to learn about other approaches and insights that can help bring us closer to achieving full financial inclusion for women.”

The Vice President of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, would deliver a keynote address to open the summit.

Dozie joins 300 executives from the financial services, consumer products and technology industries as well as investors, philanthropists and government representatives from more than 30 countries. Participants will examine the best practices in researching, designing and delivering solutions to low-income women around the world.

“The remarkable range of participants joining us—from behavioral scientists to FinTech disruptors—is a testament to the growing realization that women are the most dynamic market segment in the world,” the President/CEO of Women’s World Banking, Mary Ellen Iskenderian said.

She added: “Low-income women represent a tremendous market opportunity, and delivering financial services to women is an undeniable imperative for economic growth in the emerging markets.”

The summit’s agenda includes interactive sessions on digital financial services, human-centered design, consumer segmentation, inclusive policy and regulation, gender lens impact investing, and diversity and inclusion in corporate leadership.

“A financially empowered woman not only supports her business and her family, she is an asset to the community and to the global economy. This has a ripple effect on the financial services industry and on all industries that capitalize on serving the women’s market. I look forward to bringing the lessons from this Summit back to my work at Diamond Bank,” Dozie added.
