The Special Adviser of the Agency, Dr. Muhammad Ali Inname, made the call at a sensitisation workshop organised for members of the state House of Assembly Committee on Health in Sokoto.

Inname said the scheme would ensure that all residents of the state have access to effective, quality and affordable healthcare services, adding that the initiative is an important policy which would impact positively on the lives of the people.

“This contributory scheme will protect families from the financial hardship of huge medical bills and limit the inflationary rise in the cost of healthcare services in all parts of the state,” he said.

He pointed out that the scheme comprised the informal sector which involves communities at the grassroots that would contribute money in managing the health committees in their areas.
