Nigeria Bankers Games Begin Tomorrow

The stage is set for the 17th edition of Nigeria Bankers Games which is set to kickoff tomorrow at the Yaba College of Technology Sports Complex, Yaba, Lagos.

The Games will commence with an opening ceremony with teams from participating companies billed to parade and display in the colours of their various companies.

This year’s event will feature six events – Football, Athletics, Tennis, Table Tennis, Chess, and Scrabble.

Defending champions in the football event and overall champions of the 2016 edition – Fidelity Bank come into the Games hoping to retain both titles while other banks will be aiming to displace the champions in various events.

Five-time winners, UBA will come into this year’s games seeking domination, veterans of the competition, ECO Bank, Sterling Bank are ones to watch out for and last year’s finalist in the football event, First Bank are determined to better their performance.

Participants have been relishing the prospects of this year’s games with many of them hoping to break and set new records this season.

Speaking on the upcoming Games, the Chief Operating Officer, MediaVision Limited – organizers of the event, Mr Jimmy Sogbesan said the games will be more exciting this year as more exciting elements will be added to make the event more rewarding.

The Nigeria Bankers Games which is in its 17th season is unarguably the biggest corporate sporting event in the Banking industry. It is designed to bring staffs, family and friends of the Banking Industry together in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.
