As the end of the year aura of festive mood approaches, something new in luxury appreciation and domestic tourism is already brewing in Ikeja. Life style takes a new leap as luxury design items, paintings, sculptures, art of wine tasting and season’s carol share the same space.

And the spot to experience this rich convergence is Adam&Eve, GRA, Ikeja from October 15 to December 15 this year. From June to July this year, Adam&Eve created a fresh energy in culture economy with a gathering called The content, when lovers of luxury design items and art enthusiasts from Victoria Islands and other axis of Mainland converged for the maiden edition.

The second event tagged: ‘The Content – Harmattan Edition’, is to continue the new concept of broader appreciation of creativity across luxury design item and art, the CEO at Adam&Eve, Mrs. Modupe Ogunlesi said. The event, she adds, include Festival of Carol, a yearly programme of Adam&Eve designed to celebrate lovers of luxury items.

“Festival of Carol is what we do every year,”Ogunlesi enthuses. “But this time we want to have six lessons, in shorter form for the Carol, which starts on November 12, 2017 as it flags off our Christmas activities.”

Expected to be among the poetry readers for performance of the day, Ogunlesi disclosed, is actress, Joke Silva. Seven main exhibiting artists and three guest masters, she explains, have been scheduled to show their artworks at the event from October 15 – December 15.

“The festival of carols is a one day event on November 12 to flag off the Christmas season.”
On the carols, she says “Instead of a festival of nine lessons and carol as in years past, we plan an adaptation of the shorter version ‘Carols from Kings’ to give more time to mingle.”

The Content-Harmattan Edition, features the works of Francis Uduh, Juliet Ezenwa, Damola Adepoju, Olumide Oresegun, Emmanuel Stanley Dudu, Ibe Ananaba and Josh Nmesirionye’s. The guest artists: Dr. Bruce Onobrakpeya, Sir Kolade Oshinowo and curator of the exhibition. Lekan Onabanjo.

The curator of the exhibition aspect of the event, Onabanjo explains the theme. “We want to give The Content a generic name, hence the Harmattan Edition rather than make it in numerical series like 1 2 3.”

The event also offers wine connoisseurs to take a look into a century-old port’s trajectory. The art and science of port tasting, Ogunlesi assured will be part of the event.

With the increasing interest of young Nigerians in art, Ogunlesi predicts that “art may just be like the ongoing enthusiasm in music. “Young Nigerian artists, she insists have what it takes to be in the fore front of increasing art appreciation. Her thoughts apparently inform the dominating of The Content-Harmattan Edition by young artists.
