Obasanjo to Chair Ogunsakin’s Book Launch

Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, will chair the launch of a book published by retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Professor Tunde Ogunsakin.

The launch, slated for October 14 2017, at the Nigeria Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Victoria Island, Lagos, would be attended by the Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Mr. Babatunde Fowler; members of the Tax Board of Lagos, Ogun and Oyo States, including their Commissioners for Finance.

Titled: ‘A Review of Effective Tax Regime in Nigeria’, the book will have Professor Abiola Sanni of the University of Lagos as the first reviewer, while the immediate past President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Mr Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede would feature as the second reviewer.

Speaking with select journalists last weekend in Lagos, Ogunsakin who retired from service last year as the AIG incharge of Zone 12 comprising Bornu, Yobe and Bauchi States, explained that he chose Obasanjo as the chairman of the occasion because of his passion for Nigeria’s economic development. He revealed that the book which focuses on the history of taxation in Nigeria, the problems and recommended solutions, was inspired by the experience he gathered during his 10 year service in intelligence and investigation, particular when he was the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Interpol.
