The Forum of Delta State All Progressive Congress (APC) Local Government Area Chairmen have condemned in strong terms the recent attempts by some party leaders to defame the character of the Executive Director, Niger-Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Samuel Adjogbe, by dragging his name into unnecessary contract controversy.

The group in a statement jointly signed by the Warri South LGA APC Chairman/ Forum Chairman, Valentine Egbe, and Okpe LGA APC Chairman/ Forum Secretary, Grant Okpako, said in the NDDC, the Executive Director Project is only a member of the governing board which is the decision making body of the commission, adding that, it was ridiculous how people arrived at the conclusion that the Executive Director can be sharing contract as if it was his personal firm.

It also stated that the present board has reiterated its determination to ensure that due process is followed in the award of contracts in a way that only qualified contractors who can deliver timely are engaged.
It added: “The Executive Director project as a person has proven to be a man of impeccable character with clear determination to diligently carry out the official mandate of the commission of transforming the Niger-Delta, while remaining committed and supportive to the advancement of APC in the state.

“Hence, the party cannot condone any attempt by anybody, no matter how highly placed to defame or blackmail him. Consequently, we advise every party member in the state to desist from such infamous conduct as such will henceforth be treated as gross misconduct by the party.”

It further appealed to all party leaders to put their personal interests aside and work with the party to take over the government from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) failed regime which it noted Deltans are eagerly waiting to vote out in 2019.
