Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has inaugurated the first DNA & Forensic Centre (LSD&FC) in West Africa, which he said, will help resolve all kinds of crimes, paternity issues and others through technology which is the modern trend across the world.

He unveiled the facility alongside the Attorney General & Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Adeniji Kazeem; US Consul General in Nigeria, Mr. John Bray; Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Abayomi Olonisakin; and the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Imohimi Edgal, among others.

He then explained the rationales behind the establishment of the DNA centre, saying it set up the facility to end the entrenched culture of delayed justice and unresolved crime in the justice sector.

According to him, the centre is a significant milestone and a symbolic manifestation of “our policies in reforming the justice sector” and in line with his vision to make the state safe for residents and investors.

By implication, he said Lagos State had joined the league of advanced countries that had embraced technology to make life easier for people in all spheres of existence.
