Kogi Records167 Kidnap Cases in One Year, Says Gov’s Aide

Laleye Dipo in Minna

Kogi State recorded 167 kidnap cases within one year, the Special Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello on Security Matters, Commodore Jerry Obadara (rtd), disclosed this in Minna, Niger State weekend.

Obadara said kidnap cases reached a crisis situation in the state a couple of months back resulting in people avoiding the state.

“Most investors when the cases reached frightening dimension refused to come and invest in the state, travellers found alternative routes, even petty traders ply their trades with extra caution and care

“Today all that is history, thanks to the intervention of the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who found the root cause of insecurity in the state and provided solution to it,” Obadara said after attending the passing out parade of new police constables at the police training school in Minna.

Obadara attributed the high crime rate in the state then to what he described as “lack of proper synergy between the various security organisations in the state” adding that with the intervention of the governor ” things have changed drastically”.
