Wife of Kogi Governor Donates Relief Materials

The wife of Kogi State governor, Hajia  Rashida Bello on Friday donated relief materials to Flood Victims in Kogi State.  Over the past few weeks, unprecedented flood has ravaged many parts of Kogi State, rendering thousands of people homeless, and causing massive destruction of properties, and infrastructure across the state. While delivering his speech he said, “It is sad that this global phenomenon of devastating flood has occurred in our state at this time, and has wreaked havoc to human lives and properties. “My heart goes to all those who have lost properties and have been psychologically affected by the displacement from their preferred comfort zones, while we thank God that no life was lost,” she said. She therefore reassured the people of Kogi State that the state government under the administration of the New Direction Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello was doing everything possible to mitigate the impact of this natural disaster.

“In the meantime, relevant government agencies have intervened to provide relief materials to the affected persons in collaboration with the State government and the state Government has decided on a number of measures to further ameliorate the situation by making sure that the flood victims are properly taken care of.   As part of KOWYAF’s humanitarian activities to assist and reach out to the people in the state especially the women and children who are the most vulnerable, by distributing relief materials such as, blanket, bags rice, beans,  vegetable oil, cloths, and other items, this gesture is aimed at giving hope to the displaced persons.
