As preparations for the second edition of the Prolight + Sound event hit top gear, operators in the event sector have been assured of a fruitful outing in Dubai.
 Billed for October 17 to 19, the fair which is one of the largest gatherings of entertainers globally, organisers of the programme have said that the activity would further boost Nigeria’s economic recovery, especially if emerging sectors such as light and sound were being proritised.
 Speaking about the fair, Country Representative of Messe Frankfurt and Head, Exhibition and Trade Fair Limited, Omon Itoya –Abanokwe, noted the growing demand for audiovisual technology to meet budding events; cultural, tourism and sporting industries would also support global and Nigeria’s economies to accelerate.
 “While Africa and Middle East are world’s fastest growing markets for audiovisual with the sector hitting $5 billion in 2016, the Prolight + Sound Middle East presents great prospects for players in Nigeria to expand their businesses.
 “The event is a must for stakeholders, who want to grow their businesses because it presents  stunning  opportunities  to  expand  business  and  network  in  the  MENA region,†she stated.
 Stressing the high point of the programme, Abanokwue said it would  feature products groups such as theatre, studio, auditorium, club, disco  and  stage  lighting,  Trussing  and  rigging  systems,  stage  technology,  stage machinery,  lasers  and  special  effects  as  well  as  audio,  visual,  data  conferencing equipment,  cables,  controllers,  connectors,  switchers,  communication  systems, monitoring systems, audio networking, audio visual systems and technologies.
 It would also showcase TV and media technology, digital signage, video walls, LED and Display systems, projection systems and technology, lighting control and automation.
 The inaugural edition of the fair featured 37exhibitors from 11 countries representing more than 120 brands, with more than1,577 trade visitors from 50 countries passing through the hall at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
 The organisers also informed that sound and entertainment products such as portable sound,  concert  sound,  installed  sound,  PA  systems,  amplifiers,  microphones, headphones, line arrays, DJ equipment, mixers, consoles, players, controllers and sound reinforcement would debut at the three days’ event.
