Sen. Iyiola Omisore joins sexagenarian club

Come Friday, September 16, Senator Iyiola Omisore,  a former Deputy Governor of Osun Sate,  will grandly glide into the sexagenarian club.

For the brilliant engineer-cum-politician who represented Osun East Senatorial district between 2003 and 2009, the occasion calls for sober reflection.  As a result, the revered philanthropist is said to be planning a low-key celebration.

Over the years,  Omisore, who holds a Ph.D in Infrastructure Finance from the International School of Management, Paris, France, has demonstrated qualities of a good leader.  No wonder, many have continued to beat a path to his door for both political and business guidance

Omisore, who has just completed his DBA programme at the same institution, is described as an astute manager of resources whose attention to details, ability to simplify and proffer solutions to complex issues is uncommon.

Iyiola started demonstrating qualities of forthrightness; keen intellect and uprightness which not only set him apart from his peers but prepared him for community leadership and service, right from his early life.  In fact, today not many in his category are able to match him.

Apart from being born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he also has blue blood running in his veins. He is the grandson of Lowa Omisore and his father is Oba David Olajide Omisore of Ayepe, Olode, Ile-Ife.

Senator Omisore is also the grandson of Olufewara Kabiyesi Oba Titus Adetoba of the Oseganderuku ruling house in Ifewara where his mother, Princess Emila Adejola, ruled as regent until her death in 2006.

He is an embodiment of intelligence who has made the pursuit of excellence his trademark. In fact, his patriotic zeal and engineering acumen was brought to play when he was in the Senate between 2003 and 2011.

Although he is a man that has never known poverty all his life, he detests it with passion and will never allow it in the life of his people. His philanthropic gesture is legendary; he never made noise about it though.  We gathered that he has thousands of students that are on his scholarship scheme while many widows and orphans are on his monthly payroll, so as to alleviate poverty in his environment.
