Hakeem Bello-Osagie’s Happy Moment

All it took for many to know that Hakeem Bello-Osagie, a former Chairman, United Bank for Africa, UBA, is not nursing any pains in his heart was the wedding of his beautiful daughter, Adesuwa,  recently.

Until that memorable day, many had erroneously thought that the brainy boardroom guru might not be inspired to engage in any loud celebrations after he lost his plumb position as Chairman of Etisalat Nigeria now rebranded 9mobile.

But his critics soon knew better as he splashed his fatherly love on his daughter on the occasion to the admiration of all.

The  Edo  State-born billionaire and his wife, Myma, last weekend,  played host to  A-list guests who came  from different parts of the country for the traditional wedding of his daughter, Adebutu and her heartthrob, Tope Adekoya, in Lagos.

 It was obvious to all that the bride’s father has a commanding sense of hospitality, as the gaily dressed guests were treated to continental, Chinese and local delicacies and expensive wines.

 Bello-Osagie  started his career as a petroleum economist and lawyer, following his graduation from Harvard Business School. For more than three decades, he has been a key player in the Nigerian economy through his participation in several private sector businesses, particularly in the fields of energy, finance and telecommunications. He also has a range of other business interests in Nigeria.

His wife is a brilliant legal practitioner. Her firm, Udoma Udo Udoma &Bello Osagie, otherwise known as UUBO, render legal services to a wide range of clientele,  including  major telecommunications organisations, insurance companies, capital market firms and power generation companies.

She also sits on the board of various companies and acts as a trustee on the board of several not-for-profit organisations, including the African Leadership Foundation, the Growing Businesses Foundation, the African Wildlife Foundation and the Art and Business Foundation.
