The Executive Assistant on Communications to Delta State Governor, Fred Oghenesivbe, has debunked rumours by some online media that his principal, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, is at loggerheads with the former Governor of the state, Chief James Ibori.

He said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faithful and the public should disregard the reports, as the governor and Ibori enjoy robust friendship and political partnership.

Oghenesivbe said: “My attention has been drawn to a mischievous and misleading news report published by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Delta news portal and widely circulated by their social media team, titled: ‘Okowa is not your puppet, Latimore to Ibori.’

“The said the piece is a direct opposite of my article titled: ‘DESIEC Dissolution prompted by defects, shortcomings, proposed bill, to enhance process in Delta State, with a sub-rider;  Okowa,  Ibori enjoy robust friendship, political affiliations and partners for 2019.

He said PDP party faithful were aware he wrote several positive and quality articles and news reports about the indefatigable leader, Ibori, prior to his arrival in Nigeria and till this very moment.

“The love I have for Ibori is age-long and Urhobo Voice Newspapers readers can testify that I used my then column ‘Political Panorama’ from 2012 to 2013 to substantially discuss the enormous contributions of Ibori to the development of the state and by extension the Niger Delta region especially his advocacy for increased revenue derivation, socioeconomic and infrastructure development.

He said the state APC has continued to groan over his return to the PDP, hence the misleading social media reports.
