President Muhammadu Buhari Wednesday presided over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa with a resounding applause from ministers as he walked into the chamber.

The meeting was the first to be presided over by the president since May 7 when he proceeded to London for the treatment of an undisclosed ailment.

He returned to Nigeria on August 19, 103 days after, but cancelled last week’s FEC meeting.

As the president entered the council chambers, ministers rose and clapped with excitement after setting their eyes on the president whom some of them had not seen since he returned to the country.

However, before the meeting commenced, Buhari received the victorious female Nigerian Basketball national team, D’Tigress, who won the 2017 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket tournament in Mali.

While thanking the D’Tigress for doing Nigeria proud, Buhari announced a cash award of N1 million to each of the players and N500,000 to each coach.
