- Ask Senate to release him to face disciplinary action

The controversy between the Nigerian Police and Senator Isah Hamman Misua yesterday took a downturn as the Police accused the lawmaker of absconding from the Police Force.
The police denied that Misua officially retired from the force genuinely.
According to Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Jimoh Moshood, any attempt by the Senator to disparage the Inspector General of Police (IG), Ibrahim Idris, will not work.
He said: “The Nigeria Police Force is constrained once again to react to the media briefing by one Senator Isah Hamman Misau, who has been found out to still exist on the Nigeria Police Force Officers staff list as AP.
“No 57300 DSP Mohammed Isa Hamman on posting to Niger State Police Command on September 24, 2010.
“The Force’s attention was drawn to the publications in the media which the Senator captioned ‘Senator accuses IG of cornering N10billion monthly IGR, taking bribe to post CPs to juicy states’.
Moshood stressed that “it’s expedient to disabuse the minds of members of the public, most especially the people who must have read the story or listened to the fabricated lies, unsubstantiated allegations and shallow imaginations of a personality claiming to be a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with premeditated evil plans to incite the public against the Nigeria Police Force.
“The misleading, misrepresentation of facts and concocted allegations by the Senator against the IG and the Police Force are unfounded fallacies aimed at casting aspersions on the renewed commitment of the Force to ensure law and order as well as protect the lives and property across the country.
“For avoidance of doubt, as earlier stated on August 23, during the Force press briefing with the media, Senator Isah Hamman Misau dubiously absconded and deserted the Force on September 24, 2010, when he was redeployed to Niger State Command and refused to report, consequent upon which he was queried in line with the Public Service Rules Sections 030301(b)(g)(m)and(o) and 030402(a)(b)(c)(e)and(w), in addition to the previous queries and disciplinary process he was facing when he refused to proceed on Junior Command Course(JCC) 49/2008 at Staff College Jos between January 5, 2009 and June 19, 2009.”
He added that “the retirement letter presented to the journalists by DSP Mohammed Isa Hamman is suspiciously forged and dubiously obtained.
“The letter which was dated March 5, 2014, a period of more than four years after AP No 57300 DSP Mohammed Isa Hamman (Senator Isah Hamman Misau) who deserted the Force is now being investigated by the Force.
“It is on record for the public and the media to verify that as AP No 57300 DSP, Hamman was being wanted as a deserter; he contested and lost the Bauchi Central senatorial election in 2011 general election on the platform of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) at the age of 37.
“One Bappa Aliyu Misau contested against him on the platform of Congress of Progressive Change (CPC), other contestants with him were Mohammed A. Mohammed (ANPP), Ibrahim Mohammed (Labour Party); Alhaji Dansallah I. Ningi (MPPP); Ahmed Abdul Ningi (PDP) winner.”
Moshood added that ” contested the Bauchi Central Senatorial Election in 2011 elections and got suspected of forged retirement letter dated March 5, 2014, this means that for four years, he is still a police officer which made it a criminal act for him to contest election as a police officer in service and this is another fraud the police is investigating against him.â€
“He also perpetrated an act of impersonation by acknowledging the receipt of the suspected forged retirement letter as a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP Hamman Isah) instead of his actual rank of a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) (Ref Suspected fake retirement letter).â€
Moshood added: “Members of the public are advised to disregard and discountenance all the allegations against the IG and the Nigeria Police Force by DSP Hamman as totally unfounded and absolute falsehood.
“AP No 57300 DSP Mohammed Isah Hamman is still a Police Officer and not regarded as a Senator by the Nigeria Police Force. The retirement letter he is parading is a suspected forged document under investigation.”
