Justice Y. Halilu of Abuja High Court has fixed Monday, August 28, 2017 to hear the interlocutory motion filed to determine who is the authentic National Chairman and National Secretary of the Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA).
Meanwhile, counsel to the former Interim National Chairman of the party, Mohammed Kabir Shitu, and the Interim National Secretary, Emeka Okengwu have withdrawn from an action instituted against them by the party
The APDA filed an action before an Abuja High Court for an order restraining the defendants from parading themselves as the National Chairman and National Secretary of the party respectively.
Their lawyer, Kayode Ajulo, only appeared in court on Tuesday to announce his withdrawal from the matter
APDA is also asking for an order directing them to handover the national secretariat, the original certificate of registration and other documents to enable the party prepare for the Anambra State governorship election
The action was filed with the background that the tenure of the interim officers lapsed in June and new officers have emerged
