‘Indomie Peace Meet Up’ Thrills Nigerian Youths 

Dufil Prima Foods, makers of Indomie Noodles, has demonstrated its commitment to Nigerian youths in its ‘Indomie Peace Meet Up’ exercise, an initiative that aims to celebrate the contributions of youths to conflict prevention and resolution, socio-cultural inclusion, social justice and sustainable peace.

The initiative which was observed on the occasion of the 2017 International Youth Day, IYD, had students in seven  Nigerian universities engaged in all kinds of social activities including workshops.

 The  universities visited were: University of Lagos; University of Ibadan; Auchi Polytechnic; Imo State University, Owerri; University of Port Harcourt; Bayero University, Kano and University of Abuja.

 According to the company, the essence of the initiative was to further charge Nigerian youths to continue to engage in activities that would promote peace and development in the country.

Speaking at the University of Lagos for the Lagos leg of the event, Public Relations and Events Manager of the company, Mr. Tope Ashiwaju, stated that the brand would continue to explore avenues to engage the youth towards positive adventures that would foster national unity and development.   “As a brand passionate about youth development, we join the rest of the world to give attention to issues that affect our tomorrow’s leaders.

 “We will at all times champion the cause of the youth in ways that will bring advancement and development to the country, and by so doing, encourage and empower them to be productive to the society at large,” Asiwaju said.

 He also said that the company had been able to provide ample opportunities to young people in tertiary schools by offering them an effective and constructive participatory platform through its ‘Indomie Campus Ambassador Scheme’.

 He added that the “Peace Meet Up”, was staged as a platform for young minds to further showcase themselves and their skills.

 The Product Manager of the company, Mr. Onome Asagbra, who gave the assurance of Indomie’s continuous support towards youth progress also encouraged them to always pursue smart aims by setting goals that were specific, measurable, assignable, realistic and time-based.
