Wabara Condemns Buhari’s Anti-corruption Crusade

Sheriff Balogun in Abeokuta Former Senate President, Senator Adolphus Wabara, on Tuesday condemned the anti-corruption crusade of President Muhammadu Buhari, saying the level of corruption in his administration is unbelievable.

Wabara who spoke in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital during an event organised by Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria in honour of former Governor Gbenga Daniel, saidthe Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was a better corruption fighter.

He added that the then government led by the PDP did not spare its members in the crusade, noting that when the party returns to power in 2019, the party would continue to fight corruption as it did prior to 2015 when it lost the power to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said: “PDP is now re-branded. The future of PDP is very bright; with that judgment, PDP is now ready to be a formidable opposition. That judgment is the thing that brought back unity into this nation and God willing, PDP will come back to power.”

He continued: “With the on-going reconciliation, many people will come back to PDP and many stalwarts will come back to the party because PDP is now re-branded. The current PDP is different from the PDP of old. We have learnt our lessons.”

He added: “First of all, we will continue from where we stopped. We will continue to fight corruption. When we were there, we were even fighting ourselves. Me sitting down here, I have corruption case pending in court by my political party.

“So, we were the one fighting corruption. The level of corruption now is unbelievable. So many of us from the same party were purging ourselves, with that we were showing Nigerians that we were really fighting corruption. We know how to govern and Nigerians will agree with us.

They said if you don’t marry two wives, you would not know who is better. Now, Nigerians have tasted the new party and the PDP and now they know which one is better.”
