Anyaoku, Tukur for Otobo Book Launch on August 28

Former Commonwealth Secretary General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, and President of the African Business Roundtable and Chairman of NEPAD Business Group, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, will participate to launch a new book titled: ‘Africa in Transition: A New Way of Looking at Progress in the Region.’

The book is written by Ambassador Ejeviome Eloho Otobo. It covers a wide range of public policy issues concerning Africa political, economic and social development.

The book’s central argument is that the future prospects of individual African countries will depend on their ability to manage the three deficits – stability; organizational; and scientific and technological – which have cast a long shadow over their development experience.

Anyaoku will chair the occasion, while Tukur will serve as the chief presenter/launcher of the book at the public presentation which will take place at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Lagos on August 28, 2017.

Otobo is currently a Non-Resident Senior Expert in Peace-building and Global Economic Policy at the Global Governance Institute, Brussels, Belgium.

He had previously held the position of Director and Deputy Head of the UN Peacebuilding Support Office at the UN Headquarters in New York, where he also acted as an Assistant Secretary-General.
