Sokoto APC Backs Suspension of Deputy House Leader

Sokoto Sstate chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) thursday said it was solidly in support of the vote of no confidence passed on the Deputy House leader and member representing Kware constituency, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabiru Kware, by the Sokoto State House of Assembly.

21 lawmakers had last Tuesday, passed no vote of confidence on the deputy house leader and replaced him with Hon. Ibrahim Arzika Sarki representing Sokoto North 11 constituency, following attempt by some aggrieved lawmakers to impeach the Speaker of the Assembly.

Addressing party supporters from Kware Local Government Area at the party’s headquarters in Sokoto, the state Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Usman Danmadamin Isa, said the party was in support of the suspension of the deputy house leader by the assembly.

He stated that the decision of the assembly was in line with the constitution of the party, insisting that the suspended deputy house leader violated the party’s rules and regulations.
Isa maintained that the party would not condone any form of behaviour capable of creating chaos and disunity among the members of the party.
According to him, the party is now waiting for the assembly to report any erring lawmaker to it for necessary action

“We will not tolerate any activity that will undermine the interest of the party and as such ready to deal decisively with any erring member trying to create disaffection among members,” he said.
The APC Chairman to this end, reaffirmed his loyalty and total support to the administration of Governor Aminu Tambuwal.

He charged members of the party across the state to be law abiding and continue to work in line with the party’s constitution.

The Chairman of Kware Local Government Area, Alhaji Abubakar Zamau, presented a letter to the party chairman and expressed support to the decision taken by the assembly in suspending the erring lawnaker.
