The Caretaker Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State, Prof. ABC Nwosu, has taken over the PDP secretariat in Anambra State amid tight security.

Nwosu was appointed after the PDP national body dissolved its state executive in the state and also sealed it up with police officers from the state command.

He told journalists that his committee has taken over the party secretariat and was ready to reposition the party in the state to the benefit of all its members.

“We had written to the police and through their cooperation, we have entered the secretariat. If you look at the composition of my committee, you will know that peace has returned to the party.

“The committee represents all interest, including those who were thought to have left the party. And it consists of very eminent personalities, so you see that failure is no option here.”

Nwosu also swore in local government executives from the 21 council areas, who he in turn charged to swear in their ward executives. He urged them to work for the party and eschew politics of money.

“Our main aim is to restore politics in PDP and in Anambra State. We will end cash and carry politics in Anambra State by keeping the front door open all the time. No one will be allowed to use the back door, and we are ready to work with all of you,” he said.
