Elfreeda Foundation Activates Programme, Partners Imo Air

With the interest of homeless women and children at heart, Elfreeda  Foundation, a non-government organisation, has promised to make the society habitable for the less privileged.

According to the company’s Media and Technology Director, Idoroenyin Daniel Isoro, the foundation was out to provide basic needs for desperate women and children while also helping them build a stable and productive life to address homelessness in Nigeria.

Isoro noted that while poverty level around the world, especially Africa, was increasing geometrically, such was not divine nor hereditary but could be blamed on socio-economic and political issues.

“In this present day, Africa which is characterised by economic downturn, poverty, socio- political instability and underdevelopment, the future might remain bleak and hopeless for less privileged women and children if they keep waiting or depending on the government to salvage the situation. However, it is imperative that drastic measures be taken to rescue the situation.

“Hence, the move to reintegrate the affected ones back to the society to live a meaningful and productive life. We have also established a Resource Centre where we provide daily guidance, counselling and training for them,” Isoro said.

As part of its responsibilities to the society, Imo Air which is operated by Dana Air has pledged its continued support for the foundation to reach its objectives just as it struck a partnership deal with the organisation.

“In the word of its Communication Manager, Kingsley Ezenwa, “Providing the necessities of life is the best thing any organisation or individual can do to the underprivileged in our society.

“Considering the present economic situation in the country, we believe supporting a cause like this will not only lessen the burden of already over-burdened government, but take away the destitute from the streets, rehabilitate them and give them a reason to smile again.

“We are therefore proud of this partnership and commend the founder, Mrs. Uloma Nwosu for this massive humanitarian effort. As a responsible corporate citizen, we assure her of our constant support,” Ezenwa said.
