This position was part of communique issued by the forum at the end of their meeting in Awka and signed by Ben Onuchukwu (chairman) and Udemezue Chidozie (Secretary).

The forum said that it had been mobilizing for the PDP since 2014 and had carried out some restructuring aimed at positioning the party for better electoral fortunes in Anambra State.

The forum of Councilorship candidates stressed the need to carry them along in the schemes of things in the party as well as allow a credible candidate to emerge through free, fair and generally acceptable party primaries.

As part of their effort to ensure that the best material emerges as the standard bearer of the party, it said arrangement had been concluded to screen and discuss with the aspirants jostling for the PDP’s ticket next week.

The group insisted that they had to do everything humanly possible to ensure the emergence of a credible candidate because they cannot afford to allow their four years investment of mobilization and strategising be wasted on the altar of wrong candidature.
