Adedoyin, Others Re-elected As OAAN Executives

Rising from its 32nd Annual General Meeting held at Asaba, the Delta State capital, the Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN) re-elected Mr. Tunde Adedoyin as president for second term in office. Also returned were all members of his team minus the Treasurer, Mr. Atilola Odudare, who did not indicate interest to retain his post. He was replaced by Mrs. Dupe Adewuyi.

Other executive members who were returned to their positions were Vice-President, Mr. Emmanuel Ajufo; Secretary, Mr. Femi Ogala ; Assistant Secretary, Mr. Tunde Oyekan,  and Publicity Secretary, Mr. Obi Nnaobi. They will serve the association for the next two years.

Ex-officio members were Dr. Charles Chijide (the immediate past president of the association) of Charella Limited, Mr. Churchill Nwagwu of Spreadout Media Limited to Mr. George Onwujiariri of Mario Sanctus Limited and Mrs. Ify Onukwuba of NAS Limited.

In addition to the election, the other major business conducted during the congress was the induction of six new member companies while two others were upgraded to full membership.

The newly inducted member-companies are Afromedia Airports Limited, Audience and Brands Consulting Limited, Interlink Multiconcept Limited, Yellowstrip Limited, Landmark Limited and Adscape Limited while Ocean Outdoor Limited and Dynamic Display Marketing and Communications Limited were upgraded to full membership.

Certificates of Merit were presented to members who have shown commitment to the association and contributed to the growth and development of the association.

 Reeling out his scorecard in his welcome address, Adedoyin said though the industry was replete with a lot of challenges during the past two years, however, there was cause to cheer. He listed some of the successes recorded by his administration to include strengthening the bond of unity amongst members in both business and social life, setting up a library in the secretariat, conducting research on Nigeria outdoor advertising industry and facilitating negotiations with the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to pay outstanding debts owed some member agencies. 

Other successes included working assiduously to get payments for debts owed members by Globacom Telecommunications Limited as well as bringing on board more quality members to the association, review of the association’s constitution, investiture of new eminent Nigerians as patrons, amongst many others.
