- Lagos, Rivers lead other states

As part of preparations for the 2019 general election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it has recorded a total of 1,810,153 new voters in its ongoing nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise which commenced last April.
The commission also said the number of Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) collection has reached 65001 nation wide.
According to figures released thursday evening by the commission, Lagos State ranks first in PVCs collected so far with 9,982, while Zamfara recorded the least collection of only 22.
Similarly, Lagos State has the highest number of CVR participation with 109,040, followed by Rivers State with 103,919.
However, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has the least registration number with 14,857.
According to a breakdown by the commission released yesterday night, a total of 1,810,153 participated in the CVR in the recent exercise.
The breakdown by INEC also revealed that 76,256 persons have requested for transfer of their PVCs, while 155,471 PVCs, have been defaced.
With regards to defaced PVCs Rivers State ranks the highest with 14,176 while Bayelsa State has the least by 88.
