Whitesands School Graduates 80

Whitesands School, Lekki, weekend, held its 12th graduation and prize-giving day ceremony, where a total of 80 boys graduated.

The programme which was well attended by many dignitaries, including the Minister of Power, Works and Housing and former Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, also saw his youngest son, Olayinka Malik graduating.

The best student was Master Efeziono Elutabe who got the highest academic honours topping several science subject including Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Further Mathematics.

Also present among the graduates was Master Eustace Imafidon, a two-time Lagos State champion of Cowbell Mathematics competition who won at the junior and senior categories at Whitesands School.
Other students in the junior classes also received prizes for their achievements during the academic session.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Bolaji Medessou presented the current state of the Ikota Educational Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that owns Whitesands School, while emphasising the need to support the new school project in Enugu; Hillrange Secondary School.

The Guest Speaker, Professor Chris Ogbechie of Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University, encouraged the graduates to look at Nigeria’s opportunities rather than getting bogged down by its problems.

The Principal, Dr. Lorenzo Manuel David, who gave a report on the school in the last academic session, advised the graduates on the need to build on the virtues they learnt at home and school and challenge themselves with big dreams.

Being the outgoing Social Prefect, Olayinka Malik Fashola presented awards to Raphael Okocha-Ojeah for dedicated service to the school and Efeziono Elutabe for highest academic honours.
