A governorship aspirant of the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA), Chief Godwin Ezeemo has rejected the zoning arrangement of the governorship position in Anambra State, saying that if the formular was to be adopted, his zone; the southern zone was the favoured one.
He said with Mr Peter Obi and Dr Chris Ngige having taken their turn for Anambra Central zone, noting that Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju was not allowed to complete his second term for the Southern zone, it would be unfair to zone the seat to the northern zone where the incumbent governor, Chief Willie Obioano comes from without the Southern zone completing theirs.

Ezeemo, who disclosed this while speaking with journalists, insisted that if the zoning structure was to be adhered to, his southern zone was most favoured for the position.

He said, “Mbadinuju was the governor for four years and he is from the South, you people said he was not governing well, and when Obinna Uzor who is from the same zone indicated interest to correct it, the rest of Anambra refused, Ngige and Peter Obi from Central took over.

“So, if we are to go by that zoning arrangement, then someone from the south has to complete the second term of the zone before we can start talking about a second term for Anambra North,” Ezeemo said.
