Manchester Derby in Houston Live on StarTimes

In continuation of their pre-season training, Manchester United will on Thursday (early hours of Friday in Nigeria) take on their city rival, Manchester City in the International Champions Cup (ICC) at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Pay TV channel, StarTimes, has promised to beam the match live to its subscribers in Nigeria.
After United defeated LA Galaxy 5-2 in their first game, Jose Mourinho and his wards will be looking to win this match with City.
This is the first Manchester derby outside England since November 12, 1881. Manchester United won the first encounter 3-0.

The last meeting between the two Manchester teams was on April 27, 2017. It ended goalless. Both teams have met 174 times, with United running away winners 72 times. City triumphed on 50 occasions, while they settled for draws 52 times.

The match is a good ground for both Mourinho and his City counterpart, Pep Guardiola, to test how their teams are getting ready for the new Premiership season starting in August. It is also an excellent opportunity to test new players.

Speaking on the Manchester derby, Sports Director of the StarTimes Media Division, Cole He Xin, said that he was pleased that StarTimes is going to broadcast the match to Nigerians.

“City against United is one of the must-see derbies of world football and I am pleased that we can bring it to football fans throughout the world,” stressed Hin yesterday.

The Manchester United vs Manchester City derby will be broadcast live and exclusive on the StarTimes World Football and Sports Premium channels at 04:05 CAT.

Another Premiership giant, Arsenal yesterday defeated Bayern Munich 3-2 on penalties after regular time ended 1-1 with Nigeria youngster, Alex Iwobi getting the equalizer for the Gunners. The game was live on StarTimes.
