The Fadama lll project in Yobe State has supported 640 households in Gulani and Gujba Local Government Areas with irrigation facilities, livestock, poultry and food items under the World Bank programme on the North-east security and livelihood project.
The project is one of the series of programmes established to support resettlement and economic rehabilitation of the Boko Haram-ravaged region.
The state Project Coordinator, Alhaji Musa Garba, who conducted journalists round the programmes in Buni Yadi on Monday, said 48 communities in Gujba and Gulani Local Government Areas have been earmarked to benefit from the project.
“Each of these communities comprise 40 households and in every household there are about 15 persons,” Musa said.
The coordinator said: “The package includes food and livelihood, with the food assistance consisting of rice, maize, sorghum, millet, vegetable oil, salt and sugar to support the people.”
