About 120  passengers billed to travel to London from Lagos on Medview Airline flight were  yesterday stranded when the domestic carrier could not provide an aircraft.Â
Many of the passengers arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos by 8a.m. for 1p.m. and waited beyond the flight time without any word from the airline. But indications later showed that the aircraft that would airlifted them to Gatwick airport, London was not available.
However, a statement from the airline  explained that following disruption of its  flights due to “operational reasons†it was still determined to airlift them to their destination.
The airline said in the statement that it had reached out to the affected passengers  and assured them they would be airlifted today (Monday) by 3p.m. because all operational issues must have been resolved.
“We are deeply sorry for all the inconveniences suffered by the affected passengers and every thing possible within Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) in aviation is being done to airlift them,†the airline said.
It also assured the passengers that it  would not abandon its obligations to passengers, saying that safety comes first in all its operations.
