Themed ‘The Eversion’, this year’s Rhyme and Reason Spoken Word and Rap concert will hold this Saturday, July 15, by 3.00 p.m. and 6p.m., at the Lekki Coliseum in Lagos.

The Broadway-themed concert will showcase new and established talents and will feature local and establish names in spoken word and Rap circles.

Performing at Eversion are Ezekiel Azonwu (USA), Daboomsha, Gamie and others. Rhyme and Reason is a movement which uses Spoken Word, a fast growing art form to engage youths in the country.

Atilola Moronfolu, the curator of the event said, in a release, that the yearly event has been hosted for two years with a focus on Spoken Word, Poetry and Rap music. She claimed that the event has created grounds for youths to engage, connect and relate to the arts in no small measure. She promised that the third edition of Rhyme and Reason would ‘outclass’ previous editions.

“In 2016, the Dome, Lekki, Lagos, hosted ‘The Excision’. There were performances from both local and international artistes including Janette, Ezekiel Azonwu, Preston Perry, Jackie Hill Perry, Atilola, DJ Mordu, Plumbline, IBK Spaceship Boi,” she said.

“For those who were there, it was an enlightening encounter, where words were used to reform socially, politically and culturally. This year, we are going a notch higher than past events. We will make every year a special, more tasteful and lively.”
