OLX, Interswitch Union to Boost Safety on Platform

Online classifieds site, OLX, has struck a deal  with a payment processing company, Interswitch  to make activities less cumbersome and enhance security on its platform.

According to the company, the latest development would enable its customers to settle up with all kinds of offerings  including  premium services, Do-It-For-Me and Top ads on its site using the Interswitch platform.

Speaking at an event that sealed the partnership, Senior Manager, Business Development OLX,  Mayokun Fadeyibi, stated that the initiative would also enhance the firm’s position  as a market leader which was  focused on facilitating  safe trade.

“Trust and safety which are both priorities for OLX and Interswitch ensures that users can continue to trade safely on the site whilst making payments using the Interswitch secure platform. We are constantly re-inventing the wheel to ensure that our customers are able to use our services with minimal stress,” Fadeyibi said.

She added that escrow service recently introduced to the platform would also ensure  safe deals  where customers could   pay  money into the company’s  bank account while undergoing inspection and validity of items before the company transfered funds to the seller once chosen  item were  approved by the buyer.

Group Head, Retail and Sales Interswitch, Paul Ohakim, stated that the partnership would deepen e- commerce in the country.

“Through Interswitch’s re-engineered payment gateway, which has seen successful webpay solution further streamlined and enhanced to improve users experience, we  will continue to champion the growth and development of the e-commerce industry in Nigeria, particularly with partnerships such as this,” he said.
