Returnee President of the Nigeria Golf Federation (NGF), Olagunsoye Oyinlola, is one of the key players expected at the Honourable Golf Tournament scheduled for this weekend at the MiCCom Golf and Country Club, Ada, Osun State.
The three-day tournament is to feature invited professional today for an exhibition game to tee-off the weekend of golf for amateur players.
Captain of the host club, Akeem Afolabi, said yesterday that the event is planned to accommodate all classes of golfers, especially those that have been yearning to have a feel of the golf course.
“We are aware that our club is a golf hub in this part of the country. have slowed that down in the past and we are working to bring activities this way again. This event is an opportunity to host our fellow players from different parts of the country again and we are looking forward to doing so with pride; thanks to the support of our sponsor, International Breweries for making it happen.”
Amateur golfers will begin the Honourable title chase on Saturday July 8th and round up on Sunday July 9th.
The Captain added that “Ladies, Gentlemen and Veterans would all be competing in the events and we believe with the condition of the course, the players would be put to a good test of the game of golf”.
Already, over 80 players from different golf courses have signed up for the event. They are from Ibadan Golf Course, Ilorin Golf Club, Benin Golf Club, Ibori Golf and Country Club Asaba, among others.
The event would be rounded off with a presentation ceremony after the game on Sunday July 9th.
