Osinbajo: Nobody Can Remove Magu

By John Shiklam in Kaduna

As the Senate insists on the removal of the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Thursday, declared that nobody can remove Magu from office.

Meanwhile, Magu has advocated the establishment of a special prison for corrupt people in the dreaded Sambisa forest, an enclave of the Boko Haram terrorists in the North-east in order to keep them away from people.

Speaking at the commissioning of the zonal office of the EFCC in Kaduna, Osinbajo, who was represented by the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, expressed confidence in the capacity of Magu in the fight against corruption.

He said he had spoken to President Mohammadu Buhari on Magu, adding that the president had assured him that as long as he (Buhari) remains president, Magu would not vacate the anti-corruption seat.

“We have every confidence in Magu to fight corruption to a standstill. He will remain the EFCC chairman as long as I remain the acting president and as well as Muhammadu Buhari remains the president,” he said.
