The notorious cultist, Badoo, on Tuesday struck again after its members invaded a church at the Owode Onirin area of Ikorodu and gruesomely injured two female worshippers and a two-year-old girl, who were sleeping after their vigil.

The trio, all members of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, are presently battling to survive at the Ikorodu General Hospital, given the gravity of the injuries they sustained from the attack.

Simply identified as Iya Dabira and Iya Ayomide, the victims and the unidentified toddler, were said to have gone to the church for prayer and had gone to sleep after the required prayer session.
It was while they were sleeping that the Badoo gang scaled the fence of the church to commit the crime.
The attack would have been worse save for the screaming of the victims, which woke up other members of the church and they gave chase to the suspects.

Mr. Rotimi Ajidara, who is the presiding pastor of the church said he was still sleeping when some members of the church came to inform him about the incident in the church.
He said: “Immediately I went straight to the church only to find the two women and their daughters in the pool of their blood and I alerted some of my neighbours, who in turn called the attention of other residents.

“Since I have been hearing about the killings by Badoo, I never knew they would come to my church. After their attack, we checked round the church and we discovered that they scaled through the fence into the church.

“I don’t know what to tell the families of the victims, because they only came to my church for vigil. My prayer now is that God should heal the two women who are still battling to survive now.”
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command has directed residents of Ikorodu and its environs to acquire and carry a valid identity card on their persons always.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Olarinde Famous-Cole, who made this disclosure, said the order was due to the line up of police operations planned to weed out members of the gang.
He said: “The Lagos State Police Command would like to inform members of the public especially residents in Ikorodu and environs, henceforth everybody moving around that part of the state, should always have on them a valid form of identification.

“This has become important and necessary because of the series of police operations lined up in the area by the Lagos state police command led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, officer in charge of operations, Edgal Imohimi.

“The Lagos state police command is deeply concerned about the criminal activities in the area, which is not only unlawful but also affecting the integrity of the state.
“The planned police operations demands residents to carry on them a valid form of identification which will be verified, in order not to be restricted or face apprehension as adequate security arrangements have been put in place for the safety of every Nigerian throughout the state by the police and other security agencies.”
