Robbers Kill Farmer,  Steal Motorcycle

A 50-year-old farmer,  Mathias Abah, was at the weekend killed by suspected armed robbers, who also stole his motorcycle along Oda Road  in the outskirts of Akure,  the Ondo State capital.

Abah,  a father of 12 children and two wives, was said to have been killed around 7:30a.m. when he was returning to his Isagba camp from Oda Town in Akure South Local Government.

According to the brother of the deceased, Friday Bernard, the deceased was attacked by the robbers when he was returning from Oda Town,  where he had dropped his daughter, Esther,  who was to write a common entrance examination for admission into secondary schools in the state.

Bernard said his brother,  who is a native of Benue State,  dropped his daughter at Ogbe High School,  Oda but was shot dead on the way to his camp.

Bernard said the remains of his brother was moved to the mortuary by policemen from Ala Police Division.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO)  for the Ondo State Command,  Mr. Femi Joseph, confirmed the incident.

Joseph in a telephone interview said the command had commenced investigation into the incident.
