NNPC/SNECO Tennis Tourney Ends Today

After six days of gruelling tennis, the NNPC/SNECO Tennis tournament which began on Monday at the Tennis Section of the Ikoyi Club 1938 will come to a close today.

Speaking with THISDAY on telephone, Captain of the Tennis Section, Akeem Mustapha said though the primary aim of the tournament was for members to socialise amongst themselves, the competitive level of the tournament was very high.

“With what I have seen in the past few days, I have no doubt in my mind that the sponsors would want to do this again,” Mustapha said.

It would be recalled that Hope Nuka, a representative of the Managing Director of SNECO, Bayo Ojulari, had stated that in spite the company’s pleasure to be associated with the tennis section, the outcome of the tournament would indeed determine SNECO’s continued sponsorship.

Trophies, cash vouchers and other prizes have been lined up for grabs in all the events, which include the men’s and ladies singles, team’s event, veterans and super veterans amongst others.
