Unless APC Delivers on Promises, Nigerians May Reject It in 2019, Says Chieftain

By John Shiklam in Kaduna

A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Kaduna State, Mr. Tom Mataimaki Maiyashi, has declared that Nigerians may reject the party in 2019 unless it  delivers on the promise to bring about change.

Speaking in an interview with THISDAY on Monday in Kaduna, Maiyashi, who belongs to the faction of the party in Kaduna known as “APC Akida”, said Nigerians would ask questions in 2019 if the party fails to fulfil its promises to the people.

He noted that while President Muhammadu ‎Buhari came with a determination to tackle the challenges facing the country and create the enabling environment for development, some of those working with him are not committed to the development of the country.

‎”It should be noted that the momentum that brought about change was built by ordinary Nigerians. The president came with the resolve to tackle issues that will sanitise the system and create an enabling environment for development.

“The president’s commitment is not in question at all. So what we expect is that those working with him, should be committed to the same mission, but unfortunately, it doesn’t look so,” he said.
