The Niger State Government has said it will investigate the recent fire that broke out on Zuma rock in Suleja Local Government area of the state.
The Commissioner for Information, Mr. Jonathan Tsado Vatsa, who disclosed this in a statement said: “The investigation is to establish the concrete cause of the fire on the famous rock
“Since the incident was reported , the ministry has made attempt to get preliminary report on the strange incident.

“While the government is not ruling out natural cause like volcanic activities, attrition or friction of body of stones on the rock and other established scientific causes, oral traditional narrations indicate that such occurrence was always considered by traditionalists around the area in the past as a sign to the people on the good or bad thing that will happen to them in future.”
Vatsa however stated that government would not subject the importance of the rock to the tourism development of the state to only traditional narrations but had concluded plans to “conduct a very comprehensive scientific inquiry into the cause of the incident and come up with the best way to tackle it”.
