The only aspirant challenging Governor Willie Obiano for the ticket of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA for the Anambra Governorship election, Dr Elo Aforka has thrown his weight behind the Enugu High Court judgment naming Chief Martin Agbaso as the new National Chairman of the party.
Aforka threw his hat in the ring against his former boss, Chief Willie Obiano, despite a prior agreement by the party that Obiano will fly the ticket of the party in the November governorship election without opposition.
He who has consistently stated that he would floor Obiano is a fair primary election saying that Obiano was less popular among party men, and that the real enemies of the party were those who were protesting the judgment of a competent court.
In a statement made available to THISDAY, Aforka said there was no need ‘arranging’ youths to protest the judgment of a competent court to the extent of calling the learned judges names and referring to them as untrained or even casting aspersions on the new chairman, Agbaso.
He said, “I have cautiously read through the aspersions cast on the National Chairman of our Great Party, Ochudo Martin Agbaso, a proud, ebullient and resourceful son of Emekuku in Igbo Hinterland of Imo State by yet upcoming young men and supposed party stakeholders in Anambra State.
“It is pertinent to remind these rising men in mask that Chief Ochudo Martin Agbaso represents a revolutionary and renaissance image of our great party, APGA. It is incumbent on me to remind every true APGAN that at the age of 32 years, Chief Martin Agbaso has become a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Further More, May I consciously advice folks who are on a dead end mission of attacking Justice Ozoemena in Placards to desist from such rascality and opaque showcase of their ignorance of the Law. The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and those of our party APGA are abundantly clear on how to proceed in a democratic setting.”
