The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Niger State chapter has advised its members to continue to persevere in the face of what the party described as “deliberate intimidation and harassment by government and its agents”, saying: “There are better days ahead.”

Chairman of the party in the state, Alhaji Tanko Beji, in a “Democracy Day” message sent to media houses on Sunday said the party was aware that some of its leaders and members were being haunted by the government purposely to cow them.

“I felicitate with our numerous supporters and admirers across the state on the occasion of the 2017 Democracy Day and challenged you all to continue to persevere in the face of excruciating poverty and declining economy of our state and the nation as a whole.

“I appreciate your support and sacrifices over the last two years and assure you all that there are better days ahead,” he said.

According to him, “As we approach the 2019 general election, this is the time that we should all remain steadfast , persevere and continue to mobilise the people to ensure the party returns to power in the state and the national level.”
